Refugee Services are funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Refugee Resettlement. Services are available to refugees who have been in the United States for less than 60 months. Through a wide array of services, we are able to help refugees and communities adapt to the challenges they are facing. Appointments Required The Bureau provides a variety of employment related services to refugees living in Iowa. Employment services are designed to enable refugees to obtain employment and to improve their employability or work skills. Services available to refugees include: Interpretation, Case Management, Employment Services, Job Skills Training, and Transportation. Please note: Refugees are persons who have fled their country or origin due to fear of persecution. Immigrants are persons who voluntarily leave their country of origin for any number of reasons. Refugees and immigrants have different legal status in the United States. |
